A Round-Up of Week 9's Subway Players of the Week.
Senior Softball:
Clara Rice (Bruins)
Clara had a strong all around performance batting 3-4 against the Tarheels with a triple. She lead her Bruin team to the win. Her stellar offense was backed up by equally strong play at Catcher with a throw out at 3rd and a close play at home to get the runner.
Senior Baseball:
Zachary Swartz (Charlotte Knights)
Swartz’s 2 for 3 day helped the Charlotte Knights to their 2nd win in their last 3 games. His single in the bottom of the 3rd inning drove in what ended up being the game winning run. Just as impressive was Zachary’s dedication to the game as he participated in three Senior and Adult League games this week showing that “getting your reps in” pays off.
Junior Softball:
Malak Ibrahim (Tigers)
Malak did well on both games during her time at pitching. She also got her timing together and hit a few great hits into the outfield.
Intermediate Baseball:
Nathaniel Anderson (River Bandits)
Nathaniel had a stellar game, pitching three innings, allowing only one run while striking out seven with no walks. He also contributed at the plate, going 1 for 2, scoring 2 runs.
Minors Baseball:
Felix Vazquez (Cardinals)
Felix drove in 3 runs with his clutch hit and heads up base-running. He was also a perfect backstop behind the plate for 3 innings.
Peewee Baseball:
Bo Hunt (Hooks)
Bo went 4-for-5, with 1 RBI, 4 runs scored and some great plays in the field, including one snag and rundown at 2B for an epic out.
Congratulations all!
